Elizabeth Stephenson was born an 80’s baby into a large family in Cincinnati, Ohio and has been getting older ever since. She showed a natural predilection for the performing arts at a young age, especially dancing and singing. She soloed in Cincinnati’s Memorial Hall at age 8 and declined a record deal at age 17 in favor of pursuing a business career. After moving with her family to Atlanta, Georgia, Elizabeth fell in love with The South. She graduated from the University of Georgia in 2006 with a full academic scholarship often appearing on the Dean’s List and on the dance floor with her salsa troupe.
Her true nerdiness wasn’t fully realized until her adult life. Scoring a 138 on IQ tests she hid her genius from family and friends. Instead, she focused on building a career in the Special Event industry by working for many different companies apart of event production. Before then she had held many oddly assorted jobs starting at age 13 when she worked in her dad’s medical office, but she’s done everything from running a church summer camp, to remodeling old homes, modeling and more. She also began teaching Pilates and yoga in 2004 as she continues to do so today. She now owns and operates a luxury event planning company, while managing the Southeast’s largest historic garden event venue. In addition to her regular philanthropic endeavors, she is an active member of the Circle for Children, chair of the Hands-On Committee whenever she’s not working. Apparently she’ll sleep when she’s dead.
She began writing The Really Big Picture series in 2016 as a self-funded passion project. She dreams of its words spreading across the world, but for right now she’s really just happy to have so much love and passion in her life. She’s definitely not perfect and intends to build a perfectly imperfect brand based on that reality and her candor.
These days you can usually catch her working out, hiking, napping, eating chocolate and spending time with friends – sometimes all at the same time. Friends would describe her as laid back, fun, open-minded, and loving. What she loves most about life is the people. Which makes sense because people are awesome.
